What site teams need from software

Tools earn a place on a job when they match how the site already runs — not when they ask the site to run around them.

Site teams are judged on whether the job moves. Software that adds a login at the wrong moment, or a process that only makes sense in an office, does not last a week on the ground.

What tends to last is quieter: a clear picture of who is on site, which job they belong to, and a record that can be opened later without a hunt through email. Consultants, clients, and health and safety teams need that picture too — not a different system of their own.

The test is simple. If a site manager can use it between other work, and the office can stand behind the same numbers, it belongs. If it needs a training day to explain itself, it does not.
